About Alistair Burls

I have always had a passion for the ocean as a child and took that into my studies by doing Oceanography. I thereafter moved into working as a scientific fisheries observer, which has afforded me many opportunities to travel and see places some can only dream about while still working locally to develop local knowledge and science. Lately, I have been involved in the oil and gas sector as a MMO and PAM operator, recording sightings and acoustic detections of marine mammals around vessels and rigs alike. I have a passion for photography as a hobby and doing the MMO work allows me to indulge this passion while still working towards a cause. I have not lost my core values and look forward to what the future may bring.
