Working within the Financial Crime Data team to manage the review and remediation of a set of data identified as key, and used within key FC platforms. Managed a team in this review and delivered analysis outcomes to senior management, and provided targeted remediation activity to data owners, and undertook necessary Agile planning, management, and support,In mid 2022 became the lead business rep on behalf of the FC leadership team to a major enterprise cloud initiative with the bank. This demanded first class communication and collaboration skills as it necessitated the spanning of multiple organisational teams such that a consolidated view and approach could be presented to the FC leaders and also to the enterprise programme.Latterly I also supported a strategic data team within Financial Crime as we began a review of data quality practices across the various platforms. Again a collaborative and supportive attitude was the key here as we delivered to pressing sprint and PI targets.

Playing a lead role in a development team tasked with assisting the client in the transition of their reporting and code base to their new strategic target data platform and modernised data structure. This role could only succeed with the blending of my technical data and development skills, business analysis experience, and collaborative attitude. Sometimes the need to "switch hats" came to the fore, all depending on the task in hand and the ultimate customer. As ever being able to provide an experienced and authentic view of any given situation and plan tasks meant that trust was built and a successful working set of partnerships were established across my area, senior management, and other business teams.In 2018 I undertook solution analysis and solution development work to deliver a new "golden source" reporting process in support of management of ECF/ECP derivative positions, This was reliant upon my knowledge of Charles River data structures, and my ability to work directly with the business customer and "speak their language", and also the skill of then turning the business analysis into a technical analysis and design.When Standard Life Investments and AAM merged, ultimately becoming Abrdn, I utilised all my skills in an area tasked with identifying in-scope data reports and data processes, and then redeveloping some of this in line with strategic aims and targets. In time I became the de facto support SME for some keys risk, and foreign currency hedging processes, and in turn was tasked with helping a new offshore supplier to adopt these for ongoing future support.

Williams and Glyn was destined to be new challenger bank in the UK, and would be spawned with 20% of the RBS customer book. Working in Credit Risk I was the data platform manager for Risk, and principally responsible for a large SAS and SQL analytics platform, and other associated tooling, used by Credit Risk analysts. The tools and I data for which I was responsible were also used to support the RWA calculations for W&G. Starting as the sole person in the platform team I had to recruit, support, and plan and provide a structured education in these to a mixed team which at one point comprised 15 people (perm, contract, and external). Sadly W&G did not make it to fruition - however I made sure that my team were all supported in securing new roles.

Drawing on deep and wide experience related to SAS development and SAS platforms I joined SAS UK as a Principal Consultant in the Migration and Modernisation team. I acted in support of customers of SAS in their upgrading and enhancing of their SAS analytics platforms and related content and processes. This was a role that had to have excellent communications and relationship skills, backed by an understanding and experience of analytics and data platforms in large companies. With this role I had to rely upon my skills in analysing and presenting at all levels in and across an organisation: technical, business, management, and executive.

Undertaking platform admin and platform change, as well as team management, and data process development this was a rich and varied time where I really experienced the "full lifecycle": analysis, requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, support, upgrades, decomms. A major success was my technical leading of a significant migration and version upgrade of a large, critical, and complex SAS and SQL based risk analytics system: this took nearly three years from inception through to completion, and brought to the fore my skills in analysis, planning, collaboration, team management, presenting, solution work etc.
