My Current role as Deputy manager involves the running and managing the business on a daily basis, whilst also training staff and team leaders in their roles and responsibilities to better represent the brand and its high levels of customer service as well as it's high operational standards. My personal responsibilities with in the business include and are not limited to, the managing of the website content, over seeing online bookings, packages and sales. In addition to this I also oversee food operations and standards of service, maintaining due diligence in line with the operating health and safety standards.

My current location for Stonegate Pubs in Cardiff, I work for one of the busiest and well know venues for customers to come to on a busy day when events are happening in Cardiff, this would include the six nations rugby, where it has been commented and applauded for the venue’s great customer friendly atmosphere. In my current position there are different job roles which I apply myself to on a daily basis. These arrange from customer service, running and coordinating shifts as the manager on duty, through the managing bookings, banking and cash management, whilst also looking after the social media and the daily running of the bar.This venue has also enabled me to put on different events ranging from Quiz nights through to staging tap takeovers, where we see local breweries bring their ale and take over the bar for the day. These events have seen me use social media to inform and attract our audience base, whilst organising with other managers and other businesses to pull of the event. Accompanying this is one of my many responsibilities which sees be provide social media content and advertise the upcoming bands that we have performing each week and also providing content for our many different social media outlets.Managing the social media outlets, creating and maintaining content on a daily and weekly basis whilst bringing new and creative ideas; other duties include replying to the public through these outlets and maintaining, contributing and publishing content. Teaming this with my use of ROI (Return on Investments) and P&L (Profit and Loss) reports to better analyse the success to events as well as the business.

My Responsibilities include serving food and drink, running floor service, customer service and liaison, product knowledge as well as product promotions, whilst also participating in the running of a variety of events to a multitude of different customer demographics.

When Covid-19 hit the UK, like many countries around the world, the British government issues a national lockdown. This saw a lot of sectors including the hospitality industry close its doors with many of us not knowing how like it would be. We thought it might be a matter of months , how wrong we where?After completing the task of mothballing the venue and completing close down procedures and with the initial novelty of having a couple of weeks off wearing thin, my mind started to wonder on what I could do to help the situation. I found a company that was starting the laser print face visors and offered my services. For 6 weeks I volunteered to laser print, pack, organise and product check face visors that where bounded for front line companies around the UK. It was at this time I also started to look into some self improvement which saw me dive back into some additional studies in a level 4 diploma in Copy writing and a level 3 diploma in e-commerce.

As part of the Retail team at PGL Barton Hall, I have been helping to organises events, look after the day to day running of the department, which has included the running of a Busy Shop, Bar and also the daily running and maintenance of the many vending machines onsite. Since i have been a par of the team, I have personally made changed to merchandising and product placement which has lead to significant improvement in not only to look of the bar, but also in the profit margins as well. Whilst working for PGL I have also shadowed other departments in order to gain a more in-depth understanding of how the center operations work, whilst also looking into changes at a department operational level that could help in efficiency. Some of the departments that i have shadowed has included Catering, House Keeping and Program Coordinator to which I had a particular interest in, as it was in the Program Coordination that had a direct influence the operators of the retail gift shop on site. Gaining an understanding of the difficulties that the they face, whilst looking at ways to optimize and smooth out the running of our own operation.

As part of the Front of House team, I was trained up with a number of skills. Some of these skills include the ability to work behind a bar, till work, how to work in a restaurant and function environment.Whilst at Diglis, i took part in over 60 different events ranging from weddings to wakes and to a number of different corporate events and sit don dinners with all having a different set up and requirements set onto them. With all bringing a different amount of challenges with them that had to be over come. When not taking part in any of these functions, daily serve would resume, from looking after the bar and setting it up to turning around the restaurant from breakfast to lunch and then to evening service whilst also keeping a high level of service to the public and residence.

Whilst at University i became involved with the charity Headway with their redevelopment of their Social Media platforms as well as their on going web development of the Website.The aims that where set and met by myself in regards of the Social Media platforms where those of boosting the number of people accessing these Web Pages, but not only gaining Brand recognition. After increasing the numbers of people who view the Social Media forums, my attention then turned to creating a more active audience, one that not only viewed the content that was being put out to the audience but also having the audience members view, Like and Share this content whilst also get behind the brand and help promote. Due to the nature of the material that was given to me by the charity there was a responsibility given to me to monitor what was being put up on the web pages, in order to protect the Clients. Whilst also finding the best story to link to the Charity and help promote the charity into the public sphere.

As Part of my Position which i am involved in with the Students Union as a Trustee are, looking at the budgets of the organisation, agreeing on strategies for the organisation to head in. Whilst keeping to the values of which the Charity stands for.

As extra activities that I am currently involved in whilst being in University, I am currently a photographer as well as a Journalist for the University paper as well as one of the photographers. Some of the articles that I have written involve reports on Cycling as well as other sport reports. whilst also reporting on other matters that have effected Students, not just in Worcester but also in the wider sphere.

In September i have been part of various positions of volunteering. These have consisted of branding and media, social marketing to volunteering with the Students Union as a member pf the Freshers Crew Volunteer. The total time that has been collected it 100 hours of Volunteering.
