Installation and de-rigging of the Safe Work Zone on the Borgland, Bredford and Byford Dolphin, working at a height of 150 meters in dry dock. This entailed enclosing the derrick in a net with cloth membrane to ensure that any dropped objects are caught as well as allowing for work to carry on around and under the derrick. During this contract, my duties were to witness and inspected sulphur stress cracking which ran over a 720 hour period. I was required to complete in-depth reports each day, collecting personal certification and calibration certification of all equipment.

Completing weld inspections and thickness checks on an Oil tanker cargo tanks and ballast tanks. In the cargo tanks it was all rope access/aid climbing at a height of approx 40 meters. I ran the rope access team onboard and had to complete all inspection reports for the vessel.I was working under my own company, Rope Burns Access Ltd, contracted to Clever Marine Services.

Daily meetings with clients, running 4 teams, a total of 12 men, consisting of 2 teams of rope access personnel, 1 team of Insulators and a team of scaffolders. The teams needed constant supervision. Being a NACE level 2, I had to take environmental, profile and paint readings at regular intervals. I also covered on the ropes when necessary and completed training days with them.

Working for Salamis I was in charge of a team of 3 men. During this assignment, I learnt about painting and blasting which lead me to completing my NACE level 1: inspection of coating, checking blast profiles of all metal work, reading paint specifications, COSHH sheets etc.

Ran site for AAL at T5 Heathrow and managed over 70 men. Aside from attending daily progress meeting, I was in charge of allocating the necessary resources to any given tasks. I had to scope on site jobs regularly as well as deal with any issues arising. I also completed many rope access jobs as and when necessary. As a level 3, not only do I work in the oil and gas industry, I also work in the construction industry and Eco energy sector.
