My corporate career began with PwC, and having qualified with the ICAEW, I moved to Sydney and soon moved to an acquisitive software company. On my return from Australia, I joined BG group, the global Oil and Gas company and undertook a number of roles during the next decade. Highlights included two years in commercial operations, based in Tunisia, the country entry into Tanzania, getting involved in large scale Mergers and Acquisitions and gaining an International Management and Performance Qualification. I left the Corporate world in 2013, and launched London’s first all-electric taxi service. As a pioneer in the emerging electric mobility sector, I experienced first-hand the many challenges within this unique and rapidly changing environment. To help address some of these challenges, I worked with Innovate UK to develop specialised telematics based technology to manage the needs of electric vehicle (EV) based fleets and partnered with Uber and Nissan on ways of scaling the adoption of EVs in London. Since selling this first business in 2017, I continued to work in the EV sector, either as a business founder or consultant for organisations ranging from Octopus, Transport Systems catapult and the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.Whilst I remain a Director and advisor to a charge point network Operator, Chaarge Ltd, and an Accountancy Practice, Brightling & Co Ltd, my main focus now is on The Alternative Board (TAB). I had been a member of TAB since 2018 and have found the experience critical to both the companies I have led and for my own personal well-being. It can be lonely as a founder and confidence can come and go. In fact I have found the experience so valuable that I am now a Partner in a TAB business.
