Alistair is a global vinyl record sourcer and dealer, gig promoter, published musicologist, audiophile, and discophile currently based in Dundee, Scotland, and El Paso, Texas, USA.He is a former Board Member, Chief Purchasing Officer, and Global Supply Chain Management & Procurement Director, operating at Global and European Board levels.Alistair negotiated and managed multibillion USD contracts throughout Asia, the Americas, Western & Eastern Europe and Russia, and has extensive experience of managing business in Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China, Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Brazil and throughout the USA.Alistair had five years ex-pat experience in Silicon Valley, California, USA, co-located with Sun Microsystems Inc. product and component design engineering and marketing teams. He chaired and led multidisciplinary global commodity strategy teams for Displays, I/O Devices, Power Supplies, Contract Manufacturing, SPARC and Memory devices, defining and implementing 3-5 year commodity, sourcing and technology roadmaps.Alistair has held a number of senior executive positions in Procurement and Supply Chain management across a variety of industries, including Network Computing, Telecommunications, Electronic Components Manufacturing, White Goods Manufacturing, Electronics Contract Manufacturing, Railway Rolling Stock Manufacturing, Renewables, and Brewing.He speaks basic conversational Japanese and has acquired a deep understanding and knowledge of Japanese culture which has enabled him to negotiate effectively with Japanese companies. Alistair has sourced and managed multibillion USD annual spends with Sony, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, FDK, Suzuka Fuji Xerox and Fujitsu.He is a fanatical music fan having bought his first LP when he was ten years old - Led Zeppelin II - and snuck out of his parents house to his first gig when he was twelve, Eno-era Roxy Music in Edinburgh.
