After completing my post graduate work I went into the British Antarctic survey to spend three years in Antarctica developing phased array HF radars to study high ionospheric physics (PACE and SHARE).After returning from Antarctica I joined Olivetti research labs in Cambridge headed by Andy Hopper and in 1997 spun out Adaptive Broadband which sold to a US company called California Microwave in 1998. The company was then acquired by Axxcelera Broadband Wireless (www.axxcelera.com). I went onto co-found Cambridge Broadband Ltd with VC funding lead by Amadeus Capital. CBNL (www.cbnl.com) is now generating substantial (c$40M) revenues. CBNL developed 3.5GHz, 10GHz, 26GHz and 28GHz point to multi-point microwave backhaul products.CRFS was then founded in 2007 with David Cleevely using start up funding from the Cambridge Angels. It is successfully growing revenue and profits year on year and won the Queens award for export in 2013 and listed in the TM100 in 2014. The company has continued to internally invest in research and development to create new hardware and software systems for the most advanced spectrum intelligence networks available today.
