After subsequent discussions with the previous owner, Steve Payne, I bought the business with a colleague of mine from Yell, Calum Thomson, in 2006. Steve remained with the business for around 18 months before going back to live in New Zealand. We have implemented strategy and put more processes and procedures in place, ready to take it to the next level. We now have five people working at Mana Resourcing, and we cover specialist recruitment within Engineering/Technical, IT, Sales, Office, and Education. Business Owner - Outdoor And Ski Apparel And Hardware Intersport/AisConnect Agencies May 1999 - Jan 2004After being made redundant from Progress Agencies, the proprietors provided me with a couple of product ranges to sell, Wigwam/Ultimax and Enigmatix. This allowed me to establish a small but regular income whilst I started to develop McKinley, Firelfly and Online. These were the outdoor and ski brands of Intersport International, which were not being taken by their members in the UK, which unlike the rest of Europe, concentrated on the more traditional sports market. Along with a colleague, Oliver Hart, we made good progress, and established some fantastic accounts such as Nevisport and Snow & Rock. Unfortunately the company that bought Intersport UK hired someone to manage the department, didn't understand the outdoor and ski market. By trying to develop outdoor and ski within their racquet sport shops, they completely destroyed the brands in the UK, and undone the work I had done over the four years.
