Vocollect is the number one developer and manufacturer of voice solutions for mobile workers worldwide. Reporting to the VP Sales Europe, this was an EMEA-wide position aimed at training Partners in managing ROI reviews for voice applications within the wider DC Operations. This role included:- Pre-sales technical design and costing of operational solutions.- Undertaking over 50 DC operational reviews in facilities across Europe and Africa and presenting payback analysis to senior executives working with a wider Partner network.- Building and delivering sales pipeline opportunities.- Acting as the technical lead author for ROI models used within the European business and developing online sale training with the US team to deliver Partner training. - Developing a knowledge base of over 200 implementations of voice, noting specific payback results and financial benefits of voice to support the business and Partners in new sales as well as supporting the development of an IPAD application for the business.- Training new sales partners in Germany, South Africa, Poland, Slovenia and Austria.Notable achievements were securing over £1M in businesses accounts through the ROI review process and delivering a global webinar keynote speech on ‘voice supporting efforts to maintain regulation and control within logistics’ to 35 US-based Senior Distribution Executives.

This position saw me directly responsible for WMS/ERP software selection service and hardware reseller partnership relationships with Motorola, Zebra and Zetes. This involved:- Creating the business plan, executing the product launch and developing campaign management activities through telemarketing and Institute of Logistics and Transport-sponsored speaking events and seminars.- Developing a pipeline of £400K of business and leading the software selection process for Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd to specify and select a new ERP system for their company-wide operations. - Leading the sales process for £7.5M bid for the MOD working in partnership with Fujitsu to develop a joint business proposal for supply chain, change management and IT services. - Undertaking consultancy work for Waterstone’s Books to lead the development of warehouse voice solutions for the Burton NDC interfacing Voxware Voice to SAP/Vanderlande Sorter using IQLink. I procured £500K of IT equipment including 50 HHTs, 100 VTs and an RFID solution and managed the service delivery, start-up and transition to normal operations to supply 350 retail stores.

Encompass procurement, forecasting, warehouse management, voice direction, labour management and web ordering, AquiTec helps companies reduce their supply chain costs and improve the management and control of inventory. My role was to undertake multiple system upgrades, software solution developments and new system implementations for flagship accounts such as Musgraves, Budgens, B&Q and Premier Foods and support business development activities for the company's core WMS products including the I-series solution and the web-based eWMS solution. A key achievement was leading the implementation of the first eWMS product sale for Lloyd Fraser Group’s operation in Daventry.

This was a four-month interim project management role for a company operating ambient and apparel services for pharmaceutical businesses, game products and general warehousing companies. Tasked with single-handedly migrating CLAN2000 to a new Clandestine WMS footprint whilst the business maintained normal operations, although the implementation presented challenges due to the fragile EDI processes, limited operational processes and limited project environment planning, I successfully transferred 20 customers to the new system without any loss of service.

Working with key clients and suppliers including Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Nokia, Sony, Samsung and HTC, my role was to effectively manage the day-to-day business challenges facing a team of 30 IS professionals over five operational sites and an associated team undertaking programming and support functions.A notable project was leading a reverse logistics track and trace system re-engineering process to control the repair of mobile phones. This involved consolidating 14 separate systems into one single system that could provide real-time reporting, claim management/customer billing and benchmarking of mobile phone operations. This was developed using an Indian-based software house who provided onsite testing and development teams to help develop and cross-fertilise project management techniques.A key achievement was modernising the company's desktop and server farm footprint to increase business efficiency and reduce downtime costs. We invested in £300K worth of equipment and standardised the product onto DELL computers, placing the footprint on a service contract.

Operating as supply chain and processes lead in a group of nine Development Managers covering 22 countries, I supported the company's strategic mobile phone distribution policy and guided their supply chain systems policies and operational development.Notable projects included:- Managing the ITT processes for courier firms for a major five-year (£4M/pa) contract with Orange to provide reverse logistics services in the UK. This involved briefing and auditing participating companies, leading the implementation of the physical services during the ‘UK petrol fuel crisis’, starting an internal TNT depot linked to the business operation and interfacing SAP/Merlin/TNT systems. This project saved the company £2.4M within two years delivering 5,500 handsets each day to customers and to a repair centre.- Developing the after sales business model for Orange Thailand by supporting the implementation and commissioning of a DC operation in Bangkok and new service structure to replace phones and store products to service both master dealers and a network of dealers. I recruited, briefed and trained teams to service the business locally and operational supported the start-up process for both Orange and TNT sites in Bangkok.- Supporting the product launch of the original ‘smart-phones’ by acting as the liaison between logistics services for 14 countries linking into the launch team. I alos provided operational input to the physical preparation, software flashing and physical product launch.- Acting as part of a site team of three people in the Banbury UK NDC that saved £7M in logistics costs over a three year period. A specific personal success was a project for inbound supplier management, increasing standards of presentation and labelling. I also installed an EDI process for mobile phone serial numbers that was linked to pallet ID, managed the quality of the delivery and subsequent data take-on reducing the dwell-time of stock from 14 hours to 45 minutes for a load.

Following implementing WMS systems at UCI Logistics I was approached by Equinox WMS to carry out project work installing systems in the Far East, UK and Australia and account-manage customer activity with Asics, Nautica, Disney, Mothercare, BHS and Maersk Line.

Initially working on the New Business Bid Team undertaking Paragon and Cast modelling to cost new business, I subsequently moved into warehouse development trouble-shooting and supporting tasks across the UK business operation which included operational management of sites and project delivery. I was also part of a team that won a £35M five-year contract with Kimberly Clarke to revamp a fleet of 110 fork trucks.
