Provides expert geospatial guidance, leading the design and development of user-friendly tools and visualizations to enhance the accessibility and understanding of VPDC's data. Responsibilities also include supporting the development of a MMRV platform and managing the user needs assessment for the Climate Smart Commodities grant.

Manage an independent consulting firm supporting clients in specific geospatial needs, whether in an established product or through the entire product life cycle - from initial concept and UX/UI design to the intricacies of spatial storytelling and brand tone, static/interactive map design elements, print maps, GIS analysis/system design, and general web development support services.Currently assisting several clients working in the environmental and social equity sectors.

Assisted TxDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program to build a new internal/external facing web application wielding: Angular, NestJS, Node, Typescript, TypeORM, ArcGIS JavaScript API, MSSMS, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Pro, Azure, Jira and Git.

Role included software strategies for product features, front-end and back-end development, data visualization, mapping, devOps, UX design, agile team project management, general database/bug maintenance, and client relations.Primarily leveraged: JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, Python, CSS, SCSS, HTML, Bash Shell, Django, Zend, Docker, Jenkins, NodeJS, PGAdmin, MySQL, Jira, Deploybot, Slack, Basecamp, D3, HighCharts, Tableau, ChartJS, Raphael, and Google Charts.

Instructed and mentored graduate students in the MFA of Collaborative Design program in GIS and Mapping; included GIS and cartographic principles using ArcGIS and OSGIS platforms, GPS, and interactive mapping techniques. Implemented and monitored individual long-term and incremental student development goals to maximize progress. Acted as an advocate, critic, and colleague for individual capstone projects, as well as studio lab and workshop groups. Encouraged collaborative and independent inquiry while supporting the needs of individual students.

Led, trained, and oriented GIS employees for Ecotrust, Ecotrust Forests LLC and the Copper River Program in Alaska. Managed all published cartographic production, as well as external GIS and mapping contracts. Responded to GIS and cartographic product inquiries, along with plotter maintenance and printer requests. Established cartographic standards and templates, GIS and DBS schema, and GIS department workflows. Researched new mapping technology and data portals to ensure continuous utilization of cutting edge spatial technology. Built and maintained ArcServer, ArcSDE, geographical databases, and online mapping applications, in addition to creating spatial modeling tools using ArcGIS and OSGIS products. Liaised between GIS department and other business sectors while analyzing and mapping spatial data for various projects. Delivered presentations to external organizations and at industry conferences.

Using primarily ArcView, ArcInfo, and ArcEdit mapping software, updated, corrected, and managed data of hydrological networks within Oregon and Washington with the assistance of AML's conflated routes from Forest Service 100k data onto existing Bureau of Land Management 24k data. Produced event tables assigned to these routes, converted the tables into a standardized framework, and posted the tables into the Informix database. Created reference maps, time recording sheets, and troubleshooting guide.
