- Conducting statutory audits, which include analysis and review of financial statements including cash flow statement, of various entities. Scope of work, inter alia, includes ensuring compliance w with management policies, identification of weaknesses in the internal controls and examining financial statements to ensure compliance with the Companies Ordinance, 1984 and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) as applicable in Pakistan.- Compilation of financial statements in compliance with the Companies Ordinance, 1984 and International Financial Reporting Standards as applicable in Pakistan.- Developing administrative policies and SOPs for the better working of the tax department of the firm.- Responsible for all Direct (Income Tax) and Indirect (Sales Tax Federal and Provincial) taxation matters of the company- Tax planning which will minimize sales tax, income tax and custom duties exposure on transactions/contacts and other business dealings- Coordination with external consultants to prepare and file annual income tax and monthly withholding tax and sales tax returns of the company- Ensure company is fully compliant with all the taxation and corporate laws;- Ensure that all the relevant tax information is updated in Accounting and it is functioning correctly as far as tax related accounting is concerned.- Responsible for the Sales Tax refunds filing on e-portal of FBR and recovery of same, so far successfully recovered millions of rupees of blocked Sales Tax Refunds. - Assist Company secretary in discharging his Secretarial duties.- Liaise with different business counsels/organisations/chambers and represent company at those forums
