Managing the Middleware Engineering Team

Responsible for managing and chartering Middleware Application Architecture, work as a service oriented team for all development teams, Operations team and bring in value add to all areas, provide SME services, initiate POC, tools, automation, support SDLC.

Providing technical assistance to a variety of teams dealing with Web Applications, capacity planning, performance tuning, trouble shooting and new product inceptions. Mainly the focus is on IBM Web Sphere product suite including IBM Portal providing the Mid tier for the organization. Provide SME service which included the backend side, CICS configurations, MQ interacting with Mainframe or other backend systems. Exploring to streamline current processes and coming up with easier solutions and ensuring any impacts to the current flow of operations.Evaluatinig the Mid range systems, exploring the current capacity and catering to any new needs by partnering with various groups etc.

Oversee variety of Midrange systems and manage a team to Systems engineers for the Organization. Systems managed hosted mission critical applications for the Company, like the RX systems, Web Portals, Web Application, SAP Financials, Enterprise Data Warehouse etc. Always thrived to maintained 99.99% Uptime. Designed and implemented Disaster recovery for the systems. Ensured that the team is providing 24/7/365 support to the customer base. Engage with Vendors to implement regular technology refresh make sure the capacity and planning were done to better support the clients. Research and recommend newer technology for the enterprise.

Responsible for administering,maintaining the Midrange systems for the Organization. Worked with a group of Systems Engineers to provide a 24/7 non stop systems uptime. Assist the application development teams, ensuring that all the systems were ready for y2k initiatives. Major projects included a roll out for Peoplesoft, critical database security initiative. Performed systems upgrades, patch updates, performance tuning, capacity planning etc. Engaged in Disaster recovery initiatives. Making sure the Hot failover site was ready in perform the real time failover etc.
