My 6 years leadership as Chairman of Environment Southland brings extensive board level governance experience and skills to private and public sustainable development initiatives, regional development and complex project, stakeholder and relationship management. I have been a Resource Consent Commissioner for 15 years involving considerable experience in regional planning and consent hearing processes. I think strategically, favour inclusive decision making and am focused on ensuring organisational risks are effectively mitigated or managed.I count my 10 year plus Chairmanship of the Mid Dome Wilding Trees Trust, a complex multi-agency project successfully managing Southland biggest biosecurity threat as a career highlight.And my recent appointment as a Fiordland Marine Guardian is a big thrill and I’m looking forward to assisting this proactive group manage the pressures and threats being faced by this treasured part of Aotearoa.
