From building a strong and committed team aligned with the company's vision and mission, steering the company towards market opportunities and industry trends by developing product and service offerings, managing and overseeing bigger or critical projects, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, clients, investors, partners, media.... the list goes on :)Being a seasoned Software Engineer I always go deeper on the technical challenges, but over the years I have come to harness skills like budgeting, financial planning, risks management, legal and compliance.

Working in very specialized fields (Urban 3D, Augmented Reality and Interactive Panoramas) and with an excellent team my mission was to make innovative products like 3DPlace or aLIVE Panoramics come to life. Working with state-of-the-art technologies is very demanding but also very exciting since we are given the luxury to dream...As CTO it was my mission to develop the company's technology vision and aligning it with business goals and overall vision. I also acted as the "tech radar" to keep the company in the forefront of emerging technologies and trends, fostering internal R&D efforts and POCs.During these early days of the company, I was also very involved in the product development efforts, by providing technical directions and ensuring the use of best practices regarding software architectures & infrastructures along with selecting and managing the technology stack used (programming languages, databases, frameworks, and other tools).

I will be giving classes in IT disciplines like GIS and UML. Making a major redefinition of the GIS educational program (theory and practice) was one of the biggest challenges I faced. Overall it has been a good experience since I like to help others thru my knowledge.

This was kind of a personal gift to a group of schools in which I made some of my previous studies. I developed a professional company level website for them and trained my own skills on the several project phases.I used free top technologies (MaxDB - SAP free core, Velocity, Hibernate, JAVA, XML) besides the usual ones (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc) and it is being well accepted at the community.
