Engineering is often a career people never consider pursuing. It is typically viewed as "too hard," or simply "not for me." I plan to use my skills and experience to change this outlook. I am an innovative and passionate Chemical Engineering student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with an extensive background in leadership, problem-solving, and outreach. I have experience leading large groups through positions like Nebraska FCCLA State Vice President, where I organized events for audiences of 3000+ people and spoke to legislators at the Capitol Building. I also thrive in small groups, such as my role in NHRI Leadership Mentoring, where I guide a young leader to achieve her goals. I enjoy fostering community and contributing to projects that meet specified needs. I am driven by the belief that people are the greatest resource and inspired by the opportunity to increase the awareness and accessibility of engineering. I look forward to new challenges and am eager to apply my technical and leadership abilities in the engineering industry.
