Graduated Washington & Jefferson College in 2018, and my M.S in Biology in July 2021. My hopes are to apply to medical school in the future. Living in Tacoma, Washington and working at Clario as a Associate Medical Writer.Previous works includes: Working in the Brain Science department at the Allen Institute contributing to the Brain Atlas and mapping projects. Additional lab work I have completed post college was working at Pittsburgh Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases (PIND) working with mitochondrial mutant drosophila. Most of the work was molecular biology based, altering the genotype of the animals. Results were tested with behavioral assays, epifluorescence, and Western blotting. While attending graduate school, I worked on the neuro/ortho/ trauma unit at UMPC Children's Hospital as a PCT, while also working as an EMT for Priority One EMS. Working through the pandemic while attending school has been a challenging yet a very rewarding opportunity. In college I also was an undergraduate TA looking at action potentials of crayfish. I am passionate about the medical field. I enjoy working hands on with patients (whether it be older veterans or small children), and I also enjoy the research aspect of medicine. I enjoy helping others as much as I do continuously learning about the medical field. My areas of interest are neuroscience (where I have the most experience) and pathology/ infectious diseases, but I am open to any specialty. I also enjoy the grant writing and reading part of research as well.In my spare time I compete for Crossfit and participate in Olympic Weightlifting (OLY). I recently obtained my Crossfit L-1 certification and am a personal trainer and coach. My coaching staff and I are working toward free gym access for all. I also enjoy reading neuroscience articles and books, swimming and playing water polo, and tending to my indoor garden.
