A student of economics and a performing artist in Indian classical dance, I consider within my strengths a blend of academic passion and artistic creativity. As a student pursuing economics honours at the University of Texas at Austin, while simultaneously studying the French language, I am involved in various independent and University-affiliated research projects. Ultimately, I hope to pursue research in development economics or build a career in the field of international relations/public service. As an Indian classical Kathak dancer, I have trained for more than 16 years in the famed Kalka-Bindadin (Lucknow) Gharana of Kathak under the family of Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji, namely under Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, Smt. Ruby Mishra. As a blossoming performer, choreographer, and teacher, I have received recognition such as the National YoungArts award in Dance, the ICHF Scholarship from the Dance Council of North Texas, and opportunities to present my original choreographies at platforms such as Battery Dance in New York.
