I founded Aavaran - Echoes of rural India in 2008. My aim was to promote and evolve traditional crafts while economically empowering low income craftspeople and other stakeholders in the value chain. I wanted to do this through education and income generation programs. We attempt to enable rural indigenous artisan communities to become economically self-reliable. We also are ensuring the sustainability of traditional craft techniques and skills that they practice.
