• Lead the Technology team at American Science & Engineering (AS&E). The technology team consists primarily of Physicists, Computer Scientists and Engineers.• Define the corporate’s Technology vision. Primary objective is to help the business develop innovative and differentiating products by aligning the Market pull with the Technology push. • Execute the Technology vision. Manage the Technology Funnel process which pushes new technologies through a series of risk-reduction gating phases (1) research and simulations; (2) experimental validation; (3) building prototypes.• Work closely with the Product teams to integrate technologies from the Funnel into the Product Roadmaps.• Staff Development. Hire, retain, and develop talent.• Actively engaged in preparing proposals for domestic and International government agencies.• Technical Contributor. Hands on technical contributor with strong Software, Image Processing, and Computer Vision skills. Lead the team to introduce state of the art ATR algorithms for Advanced Personnel Scanning X-ray systems.• Lead the team to create and deploy algorithms to monitor system performance in real-time and predict system failure.• Built tools to simulate imaging performance for new product development. This allowed the team to quickly iterate through dozens of design parameters to achieve optimal performance.• Maintained strong relationships with Middle Eastern customers.
