DirectorWisdom House Jul 1974 - PresentSandy, OregonI am a retired Episcopal priest, having founded and directed a spirituality center for soul care and inclusive language worship, collaborating as a poet with artists in many genres over the past 50 years, writing about feminist philosophy and theology, the creative process, and celebrating the Sacraments for an ecumenical community. I'm a contemplative solitary by nature, after a quarter century of extensive work-related travels. Now, health limits me to the area for which I have energy: writing. About 16 of my 19 books are still in print (see Amazon and other Internet sources). Many of my poems and one book are collaborations with visual artists, composers, dancers, singers, other writers. My poems are still being widely anthologized and put to work in areas beyond my imagination: global food distribution, inspiration for communities undergoing radical change and renewal, peace and justice activism, coping with infertility and all forms of grief (Life is Goodbye/Life is Hello: Grieving Well through All Kinds of Loss and A Journey through Grief), and more, with 20 new books in progress.I hold a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and a professional care certificate from the Gestalt Training Center of San Diego. I was the first woman to be ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon in 1971, and was one of the Philadelphia Eleven, the first women who were ordained priests in the Episcopal Church in 1974. A progressive democrat, I have marched in hunger caravans with Jesse Jackson, participated in peace rallies, civil rights events, women's and children's rights events, and testified for reproductive choice. I am a contributing member of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Amnesty International, the National Organization for Women and the World Wildlife Fund. I still miss my wonderful husband and brother priest, Phil Bozarth-Campbell whose Earth journey ended in 1985, but I feel his presence and love my life with overflowing gratitude.
