REDI by Tamposense, LLC is a young start-up small business. Our goal is to bring a novel product to solve a big problem that many women have. About 70% of women use tampons during their menstruation, and leaking of tampons happens to nearly all of them. Women are instructed to change tampons every 4 to 8 hours. However, due to a different bodies anatomy, it’s hard to predict when the tampon will get full and the leakage will happen. Therefore, there is a strong demand from women to be alert, to have a reliable, portable, easy to use tool to signal them that the tampon will “overflow” in 20 or 30 minutes. Our proposed technology will provide advancements of women hygiene products. In particular, this technology will upgrade existing tampons to the next generation, offering extended functionality and safety from leakage. We are proposing sensitive, reliable, remotely/wirelessly operated micro-sensing system preventing tampon leakage. The system consists of two elements: the sensor itself and the “reader” (in the woman’s bracelets or her phone app) wirelessly connecting to the sensor.
