Current• I am the nominated Senior Patient Safety Specialist, working with identified Safety Leads across the Trust, leading the Trust response to the National Patient Safety Strategy, providing expert advice and guidance in delivering this key strategic agenda. • I provide dynamic, senior leadership, visibility and expert support to the patient safety agenda across the Trust, leading on and embedding a patient safety culture. • I work across the local health system, including working closely with the ICB and ICS to ensure shared learning and improvement is secured.• Working with the Chief Medical Officer, I lead on a Trust wide approach to safety, translating and implementing the changes within the National Patient Safety Strategy (NPSS), working with corporate & divisional teams and patient groups accordingly.• I hold lead responsibility for the formulation of the Trust’s corporate strategies for Clinical Governance, inclusive of safety, risk and clinical effectiveness on behalf of the Trust Board.• I have led on the development of an environment where learning drawn from complaints, the quality agenda and serious incidents collectively, drive learning and improvement across the Trust. • My role ensures the ongoing delivery of the Risk Management Strategy, with direct reports from the Head of Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Manager. . • I lead on the co-ordination of the work required to achieve compliance for Care Quality Commission standards relating to the Well Led and Safety Domains. • I work collaboratively with the Company Secretary in relation to the Board Assurance Framework and Risk Register functions to ensure that the Board has meaningful and up to date information on strategic and other significant risks.
