Just an ordinary Canuck. Born in BC, raised on the prairies. First job after high school as a marine engine mechanic. Next as airplane engine mechanic for Standard Aero. Attended Winnipeg's Red River College night classes in 1963 to learn electrical/electronic circuit design and to complete industrial art design course (created Uniflag-Canadian Image of Confederation as an aside). Employed by Honeywell (home & building HVAC control/automation) 1966. Career path; warehouse to inside sales, outside sales, marketing. Transferred 1977 to Honeywell London, Ont as Division's Branch Sales manager. 1981 transferred to Honeywell Toronto. Became Canadian National Account Manager 1995 (one e.g; sell automated HVAC Honeywell energy management control for 8400 US/Cda MacDonald's stores). Joined international marketing team to coordinate sales strategy with national account managers from Minneapolis, Albuquerque, New York, Los Angeles. Retired after 32 years in 1998. Next, employed by Invensys (Erie Valve Division) to re-establish Canadian distribution as National Market Manager. Retired again in 2004. In 2005, opened an agency; Comfort Control Solutions Inc to setup Cdn distribution for Italy's Caleffi Hydronics. Over this entire time, I travelled across Canada often and made many friends in each province. Enjoyed Canadian history education (appreciate John A MacDonald's 1867 leadership in forming one Canada from three by Confeder-ation, without email, cell phone, or texting). Felt a deep appreciation for my huge country by seeing most of it first hand (2nd largest land mass on earth) Primary fun activity included scuba, boating, water skiing, northern MB float plane flying/fishing, Rockies Alta and St. Sauveur PQ, downhill skiing, Great Lakes sailing, and British Virgin Island based Caribbean ocean sailing. Interests include "flag art" history (what amazing stories history flags can tell you).
