Managed the IT department and supported a mixed Windows 2000/2003 Network environment. The Domain consists of Domain controllers running Windows 2003, Exchange 2003 as our e-mail server, ISA 3.0 that later we migrated from Proxy 2.0 for internet access and network protection. Our physical network infrastructure consists of Cisco 2500 routers with a fractional T1 and as well as a dedicated T1 connection to our other campuses. We have implemented SMS 2.0 to control our network and to remotely administer all computers in the domain. We also have implemented a Windows 2000 Terminal Server for application access for our users. In 2001 we had to move to a bigger building, my team was in charge of the wiring of the whole building which we completed in a very short period of time, working long hours, in order to avoid class disruptions. I designed a subnet scheme that included routers in every classroom to control access to the corporate network. Tracked and troubleshoot network problems with Network Monitor and Sniffer 2.5. Deployed an IIS server to host our intranet website and Outlook Web Access server for “anywhere access” to e-mail. Used recovery tools to recover data on dead systems and extracted critical data. As well as password recovery, when resetting the password was not an option.

Reporting to the Minister of Communication, as the Senior Technical Advisor (STA) – Afghanistan I was working in Kabul, Afghanistan and worked collaboratively with the other International Agencies to provide overall support to the Afghan Reconstruction Program. Part of my job was ensuring the overall cohesion, coordination and quality of contributions to the Program efforts within Afghanistan. The STA had a lead role in strengthening the reestablishing Afghan Government IT infrastructure in MOC, selected institutions in Afghanistan and the Ministry of foreign affair in line with their specific priorities and requests
