Spanning both Transmission & Distribution sectors, across the central and Eastern regions of Victoria. driving/managing the safety first mantra, HSEQ auditing & governance programs, HSEQ systems reporting and improvement requirements. providing high level coaching, mentoring and instruction to both elected HSR’s and operational managers.

Safety Lead for the Construction of: Bulk storage Tanks Pipelines & Bund refurbishment. Various sites across Australia & New Zealand. Establishing a strong working relationship/culture with ExxonMobil Corporate governance, WorkSafe Victoria and Contractors. Establishing & imbedding a new contractor engagement process, ensuring management plans align to project risks and scope specific inspection plans. Provide statistical reporting to the Global Projects Team, leading investigations and oversight of employee wellbeing programs.

Approached by WDS and offered HSSET Manager role to rewrite and manage the safety management system on the APLNG West project at Reedy Creek in construction of lease pads, Civil works and supporting infrastructure to Origin Energy. Additional duties included: improving safety & environmental employee culture with direct reports on FIFO roster. Improving security & emergency response communications in remote area to better ensure safety of employees. Trend analysis development including establishment of injury frequency rates aligned to corporate requirements. For a period of 3 months requested to concurrently manage the contract for catering and accommodation, with up to 800 users.Additional roles included: Planning and execution of shutdowns focusing on a one team approach integrating all companies and disciplines in a united approach to safety.Improved close out reporting for shutdowns, performance recognised by the UGL National Operations Manager and closeout reporting adopted as the new national standard by UGL.Slashed costs related to on boarding and training by working with the client, to combine both principal contractors workforces.

After assisting with a major restructure which required imbedding a new safety culture, I was appointed the largest portfolio to ensure the implementation of a new Health & Safety plan across Victoria. This diverse portfolio covered: Mentoring & coaching of operational leaders, statistical reporting, investigations, incident management and auditing across the region. Industries included Construction/Infrastructure, Facilities Maintenance, Water Industry, Oil & Gas.

In my role as Executive Health & Safety Manager for Transfield Services within the Turnaround and Major Project Group I provided technical advice on Health and Safety to the EGM’s. By mentoring and coaching I improved the culture of HSE performance across the group.Engaged to review and improve training & onboarding of contract workforce for shutdowns & projects, I was able to provide clients significant savings during onboarding processes. I also achieved reduction of injury frequency rates, standardised corporate reporting and trend analysis of data. Integral to this role was development of relations with operational personnel.

Reviewed and aligned existing industry group systems to Global requirements and initiatives Successfully completed two challenging projects to completion in Gippsland Victoria, one of which achieved the prestigious Banksia Environmental Award

Provide HSE support for Civil / Infrastructure projects, Implement strategies on both brown field and green field sites as EPC to facilitate a safe working environment and meet all statutory and contractual requirements.
