I have been the CEO of Hastings Co-operative since May 2013 and in that time the business has grown grow from 13 to 20 different businesses and increased revenues by 42%. I also sat on the Board of Regional Australia Bank until I retired from the position in November 2021. Previously I was Chairman of the Holiday Coast Credit Union Board prior to its merger with Regional Australia Bank in July 2019. I have a background in business consulting and specialised in compliance work for managed investments schemes. In a previous life I worked for the ANZ Bank where I developed expertise in business lending and relationship management. I hold a Bachelor of Business Degree from Monash University as well as a Graduate Diploma in Education from QUT. Prior to taking up my current CEO role I ran AKG Business and management Services Pty Ltd from 2001 to 2013. Established a consulting business specialising in assisting small to medium enterprises reach their potential. Within the consulting sphere I have;o Developed a business review and coaching product known as BizScan which provides businesses with real opportunities to improve their bottom line. BizScan was runner up in My Business Success, best franchise ideas competition. o Developed and implemented specialised compliance programs for Managed Investment Schemes Additionally, developed an independent review format for Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Finance programs. o Successfully undertaken various executive relief positions. o Provide monthly management review of trading position for an administration conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers.• Was on the Panel of LawCover NSW to provide risk reviews for Legal Practices in NSW.• Guest Speaker at the ABACUS convention in 2008 speaking on succession planning within Credit Unions.• Elected Deputy Chairman - Holiday Coast Credit UnionAKG specialised in Compliance work for Managed Investment Schemes.
