General legal counsel-General legal counsel to various Bank departments on issues for example employment law, hire purchase law, chattels and mortgage transfer law, conveyancing and other laws relating to commercial transactions.Commercial Suits against the Bank- Review and draft pleadings on behalf of the Bank in the commercial suits that have been filed against the Bank.Also review litigation cases from time to time and advise Bank management on whether the Bank has a chance in court and where required, to settle the matters.Security Perfection and Documentation - Required to support the business teams in the securitization and perfection of securities to secure lending. This task required me to review all forms of security documentation and liaise extensively with external counselContract Drafting and Review - Assist the various departments in the Bank in reviewing contracts touching on the departments and drafting of contracts between the Bank and various service providersStatus Reports- Litigation status update reports to be circulated to the Bank’s senior management and business teams respectively.Legislation Review:-Required to review the Kenya Gazette weekly and update the Bank on any new legislation enacted that affected the Banking Industry.
