Maintain both disaster shelter and response readiness for the UofN campus of 2000 people. Coordinate 10 additional neighboring teams as West Hawaii CERT Coordinator.

Trained CARE Child Survival staff and District Health Mgmt Team in use of COPE (client-oriented, provider-efficient) Assessment, a process intended to encourage health staff to assess the services they provide jointly with their supervisors, identify problems, find root causes, and develop effective solutions in difficult Child Survival settings.

Benin, West Africa

Team lead in developing successful, $1.7 million 5-year Child Survival proposal for the Tchaorao Household & Community-based IMCI Project in Benin, West Africa submitted to USAID Child Survival and Health Grants Program (CS-P).

Uganda

• Supervised mid-term project evaluation using diverse PLA methodologies. • Conducted research on Treated Bed Net usage in six project communities utilizing Participative Mapping. • Conducted final week of Community-based Health Worker training needed for certification.

Liberia, West Africa

• Assisted World Vision-Liberia staff in writing a large Child Survival proposal.• Conducted Overcoming Barriers workshop for PVO staff.

Liberia

• Contract to facilitate establishing a Secretariat within the Liberian Ministry of Health for coordinating Polio eradication and surveillance, which contributed to Liberia being declared Polio Free in 2006. • Collaborated with the Liberian Ministry of Health, CDC, USAID, UNICEF, WHO, and 10 PVO's in Liberia.• Conducted Overcoming Barriers workshop for County Health Officers and other PVO staff.

Bali Province, Indonesia

Supervised community health development interns through Participative Appraisal exercises and the introduction and construction of five fishponds, a household hydraulic RAM pump and household septic system and home gardens.

Stung Treng Province, Cambodia

Conducted a two-week Final Project Evaluation of the Integrated PHC projects administered by YWAM in three districts of Stung Treng Province, Cambodia. These included a school health education/micronutrient supplementation program, Malaria Treated Bed Net program, Immunizations program, MCH/TBA training, program, School HIV/AIDS education, and District Health Center strengthening, funded by TearFund(UK), UNICEF and WHO.

Mindanao, Southern Philippines

Supervised a multinational team of community health development interns through field training in food security & sloping agricultural land technology, village level appreciative inquiry and cooperative learning exercises in collaboration with personnel from the regional Ministry of Health.

Irbil, Iraq

Trained 38 Kurdish Medical Assistants and nurses as survey interviewers and supervisors and conducted a large multi-indicator 30-Cluster KPC Child Survival Survey of Irbil, a city of nearly 700,000 people. Coordinated field work as well as computer and hand tabulation of the data, analysis and preliminary feedback to local NGO’s and wrote the final survey report, with support of the Johns Hopkins PVO Child Survival Program

Shimla, Northern India

Supervised a multinational team of health care workers in conducting Key Informant Interviews, Focus Groups and a KPC Health Survey; in analyzing the findings and in refining health messages & interventions.

Bolivia

Conducted a Final USAID Project Evaluation of FH/Bolivia's country-wide Child Survival Project. Led six-person Nat./Int'l. Field Evaluation team. Moderated two days of sustainability assessment meetings with Bolivian Ministry of Health and all involved agencies. Authored Final Report. Participated as the International External Evaluator in the project's 3rd year evaluation Aug-Sep 1992.
