The overall control of several Housing Developments from initial cost plan to completion. Supervision of team operatives and goal setting of operations. The setting, supervision and implementation of directives and procedures. Forward planning of Development progress, including the alteration of the scheme to suit market forces, completion programmes and production of handover information. Supervising safety information and monitoring. production of succinct Bank reports and feedback.Along with all previous roles as Development Manager

Responsible for the smooth operation of several Developments including ensuring that payments to Principal Contractors and others are fair and reasonable in light of contractual obligations. Providing contractual, commercial, financial and management advise direct to Board. Maintain and control completion programs for all Developments. Provide safety advise and procedures for site implementation. Liaising with Professionals on Design alterations and ensure the smooth incorporation of same into Developments with minimum disruption. Evaluating risk and problem solvering.

The financial control on several Commercial and Public Housing contracts, including the measurement of payments to Subcontractors and others in line with contractual agreements. Ensuring optimum returns, at the right time, in respect to measurements and valuations of contract work, whilst maintain client and design team relationships. Maintaining feedback to commercial management on cash flow, costing and financial planning of projects. Completion of Final Accounts as soon as possible following the completion of the projects.

Full range of Contractors Quantity Surveying duties on various schemes. Started in the Small Works section, running up to 15 contracts at any one time ranging from Housing refurbishment to Commercial Refurbishment and Commercial New Build, value ranged generally topped at £1m. Moved on to the General Works section with a higher value of contracts but still working on approximately 10 contracts at anyone period. Value range up to approximately £3m. Again ranging from Public Housing Refurbishment to Commercial Buildings. Full range of typical construction types. Providing detailed reports for line management and accounts, including cash flow projections, current scheme costing and predicted Final Accounts. Worked closely with the commercial Department Estimators and Buyers on feedback for tendering opportunities.

BP Oil Greenman contractor for Northern IrelandPlanning of daily, weekly and monthly workloads for 3 teams of operatives working exclusively on BP Oil Filling Stations, including the alteration and adoption of schedules for Emergency call outs.Pricing and Planning of New Service station designs. Payments and invoicing for subcontractors and specialist contractors. Invoicing and liaising with BP Oil. Ordering, monitoring and distribution of station signware upgrade program.

Full range of Private Quantity Surveying duties.Including the production of Bills of Quantities for many Commercial, Private and Social Housing schemes.Post contract valuations, re-measurement, Final Accounting,as well as estimates and budget plans.

Starting as junior, training as a Quantity Surveyor,but not knowing what that was !Quickly developed in the pre-contract team in Bill of Quantity production. Developing my construction detailing and contract awareness. Moved on to post contract schemes with remeasurement sections, e.g. foundations, drainage, site development works etc. Soon moved on to running post contract schemes. carrying out the full range of PQS duties, valuations, Final Accounts, estimates, Cost Planning, design information etcHelp implement the Wang Computer take off package for Peter Munn & Partners, which at its time was the first QS computer package on the market.

Didn't know what I wanted to do on leaving school. Computers were becoming the new industry. So I left school with 8 GCE's to learn the new industry, instead of continuing with A levels.Earned some additional qualifications in the electronics sector but realised that it wasn't an area that I was comfortable with. When the right opportunity to move on presented itself, I leftWhilst in the Training Workshop I constructed electronic aids for the physically and mentally handicapped as well as intercom systems and personal address systems.
