A challenging but rewarding organisation. I had the opportunity to build the Media/PR Unit from a staff of one to four and a substantial increase in funding through external grants and programs. Over the four years I established a robust media training program for the 5,000+ volunteers and 100+ paid staff. I managed the development and implementation of the organisations style guide, media policy, media strategy and social media policy. Re branding of the SES fleet, corporate banners and website was also completed. Media items increased from an average of 30 per month to an average of 350 per month. The service is now recognised as leading emergency service for the Victorian community. Representing VICSES during crisis and delivering safety messages to the media.
