Responsible for the development of all websites as well as the operational environments. Managed two web developers and ABM’s Help Desk Technician. Greater focus on code integration via third-party APIs, code documentation, and overall cleaner code.During this period, the company’s focus switched from publishing to marketing. Its 23 brand sites were consolidated down to 6 and moved to a new hosting provider.

Hired to be part of a team of Agile web developers for a mid-sized media publishing company that maintained 20+ sites standardized on the Drupal platform. My focus was on custom Drupal module development, and troubleshooting/refactoring/testing PHP code.During this time, all sites were completely redesigned to a cleaner, responsive layout, upgraded to a newer version of the Drupal framework, and moved to a new hosting platform.

I oversee all IT operational activities for a retail marketing agency. To ensure rapid, accurate, and efficient response to daily and long-term needs, I continually monitor and review IT systems infrastructure, measuring optimal capabilities consistent with business requirements and departmental budget.My responsibilities include managing:• Hardware – servers (file, email, database), desktops and laptops, printers (large- and small-format), routers, firewalls, switches, wiring• Software licensing• Network services (LAN/WAN, Internet, telephone)• IT-related corporate resources (websites, FTPs)• Data retention (tapes, disc media, and cloud-based backups)• End-user support for 50+ employeesSome of my accomplishments include:• Composing a detailed operations manual for the IT department• Upgrading internet/phone access to a new provider and composing a post-mortem report for posterity• Coding the company intranet (utilizing the Drupal CMS framework) and refactoring its main consumer site and several microsites• Providing website analytics and recommending SEO/SEM• Initiating an annual IT audit for upper management• Presenting IT-related issues and solutions at quarterly company meetings

For six years, I worked for a direct-to-consumer company that owned brands including BMG Music Service, Columbia House, and Book-of-the-Month Club. My responsibilities were to oversee the Mac software and hardware support for a creative department of up to 200 Macs, throughout several locations. This support was provided single-handedly, and later, as part of a team. My support extended to include font maintenance, the creation of standardized builds (created with complex scripts via FileWave), extensive digital asset management, and the development of internal websites using Drupal CMS and PHP.Although my focus was on the Mac platform, my knowledge of Windows enabled me to assist the PC support team.

Recognizing the imperative need for an intranet, I composed and presented an initial proposal and was given the responsibility for the actual construction of the site. I was involved in every phase of the project including complete interface design, back-end coding, content collection/management, and internal promotion of the site. Its immediate value prompted the expansion of my role into the development of proprietary web-based applications utilizing CDML/FM Pro database solutions. I also acted as the client/agency liaison for software development and administration of various client extranet sites.

While I worked with a team of IT specialists in handling a broad spectrum of PC/Mac/LAN/WAN issues, I was directly responsible for supporting the creative technologies. I was also involved in numerous special projects such as supporting the proliferation of handheld devices, and the development of a detailed, web-based software/hardware inventory (as part of an overall Y2K initiative), a project that directly led to my next promotion.

Upon joining the corporate IT division, I was responsible for all IT issues for the healthcare division of the agency. Additionally, I upgraded two AppleShare servers to a single Windows NT server, and replaced over 150 Mac desktops to Wintel CPUs. As my last assignment in this position, I oversaw the movement of all IT hardware (servers, desktops, routers, LAN wiring) from their former location back into the main office.

Acting largely on my own, I was responsible for supporting all IT issues in a high-stress digital studio, consisting of 25 Mac desktops, two AppleShare servers and a Windows NT server that I had upgraded from Novell, as well as numerous output devices. This position required the knowledge of color calibration, hardware/software upgrades and the development and maintenance of a large-scale archiving operation for offsite storage.

In this position, I worked daily to maintain software and hardware for a LAN consisting of approximately 30 high-end Macintoshes, several NeXT workstations, a variety of high-quality color output devices and computer peripherals, and a pair of UNIX-based file servers. As upgrades were necessary, I researched, recommended, purchased, and installed new equipment, including any new memory chips, internal expansion boards, and/or the physical re-wiring of the local area network. Due to daily deadlines, the need for problem solving expediently was paramount.
