Allan Gate is an experienced marketing and communications professional.He co-founded Bonfire Communications in Saint John in 2013 and built it into one of Atlantic Canada's top marketing and communications agencies, counting organizations like Atlantic Lottery, NB Power, Build Ventures, Crosby's, and Atlantic Canada Cruise Association as clients. Bonfire was acquired by the Ginger Agency in 2022. He also founded the media website Huddle.Today, acquired by Acadia Broadcasting in 2019.Allan worked in progressively senior roles in agencies in Canada and the United States, including Revolution Strategy in Saint John, Extreme Group (now Arrivals and Departures) and Corporate Communications Limited in Halifax, and SHIFT Communications in Boston. He began his career on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, working first as a Legislative Assistant for a Nova Scotia Member of Parliament and then Special Assistant Atlantic Canada for the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.Allan teaches marketing at the University of New Brunswick Saint John and previously taught in the Faculty of Public Relations at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax.
