Fetal chromosomal aneuploidy detection through next-generation sequencing and bioinformatic analysis.

• Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre, BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver, Canada
• Bioinformatics lead of whole genome pediatric cancer resequencing projects: performed analysis to identify, annotate, and prioritize key genomic mutations including single nucleotide variants, indels, copy number.
• Conducted comparative whole-genome sequencing data analyses between platforms (Illumina and Complete Genomics) with respect to platform-dependent alignment characteristics, systematic bias, and variant detection.

• Initiated and contributed to algorithm development, data analysis, and web server implementation of machine learning methods for prediction of membrane protein structural properties including solvent accessibility.
• Led the TMPad project in defining user requirements and database design and contributed to integration of meta-data from different sources and implementation of database and web interface.
• Collaborated with Dr. Fu Chang (IIS) on a decision tree-based support vector machine algorithm and its application in membrane protein structures.
