A record of accomplishment in leading change, organizational renewal and outcome, I have more than 35 years’ experience and a diverse range of skills in leadership, strategic planning, organizational design, board governance, public policy, advocacy and negotiations. Founder of O’Dette & Associates Inc. providing advice on cultural transformation, governance, and strategic management to profit, non-profit, policy makers and associations. An independent consultant and board advisor, I lead assignments with associates that enable data driven organizational growth. I currently serve on the Advisory Board of the International Economic Forum of the Americas (Toronto, Montreal, Miami, Paris). I’ am an advisor to Connective Intelligence, an Associate to AlignSight Inc. and serve as the Chair of Tru Trace Technologies. Past board member of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Club of Toronto, Markham Stouffville Hospital, Life Sciences Ontario, Ontario MD and past advisor to the University of Toronto Biotechnology program and the Mowat Centre for Policy Innovation.Recently, I served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ontario Medical Association and Ontario Medical Association Insurance, from 2018-2023, representing the political, economic, and clinical interests of Ontario’s 43,000 physicians. I led fundamental governance renewal, ratified over twenty-five billion in contract negotiations and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Employers in Ontario.I was Ontario’s first Chief Investment Officer, founding and leading a one-stop agency to attract and retain foreign investment for the province. Attracting over a billion of dollars in new investment to Ontario that created thousands of jobs by aligning colleagues, political leaders and advocating Ontario and Canada as a destination for foreign investment.As President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, I led the modernization of Canada’s largest and most influential business association, representing over 60,000 members with more than 2.5 million employees. In this role, I aligned government and industry stakeholders to establish key strategic priorities to enable Ontario to lead Canada in industrial growth.Twenty years in progressive leadership roles in the bio-pharmaceutical sector with GSK, Pharmacia, Eli Lilly and Searle have anchored my knowledge of large multinational process and systems planning. A recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for contributions to community and philanthropic efforts, I have a commitment to volunteerism.
