As Head of Affiliate Development my role is to build relationships and work in partnership with Mary’ Meals international fundraising affiliates, to support their growth whilst delivering the Mary’s Meals mission. I lead the Affiliate Development team to provide strong strategic support to our existing network and to enable expansion to countries where we do not yet have any formal fundraising groups. Crucially, I lead the support of our Global fundraising affiliates to development and deliver comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to build, maintain and grow their organisations to enable the long-term financial sustainability and growth of our movement.

Cityplot is a third sector organisation that aims to heighten human awareness of nature’s cycles in urban areas. The Cityplot team does this by encouraging and supporting people in gardening and botanical endeavours.Cityplot encourages and educates city dwellers about how to grow their own vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, fruit and berries. We start with the basics: from planting seeds to harvesting, and from worm composting to attracting pollinators to your garden. We demonstrate how simple it is to provide healthy and sustainable alternatives to the global food system. By reconnecting oneself with our food sources, nature’s cycles and the environment, one can begin to take charge of ones own impact and respect being part of the greater whole.

I owned CAMG BV and through this company I consulted mainly in projects involved in sustainability and environmentally friendly activities that improve the general standard of living of local communities. Examples are partnering with the Cavell Group for CSR (corporate social responsibility) project acquisitions, and establishing and investing in CityPlot (www.cityplot.org) that teaches both children and adults in local communities about small scale organic food farming.I also used CAMG BV (when required) to manage commitments to firms requiring interim or full time consulting work, Charitable Fundraising and for Executive or Non-Executive director appointments.

Compass was my management company that I required in order to fulfill my commitments to companies such as Commission Junction, Segway Inc, Security Innovation and Yakima Inc– in order to establish a correct fiscal and legal working relationship while I engaged in establishing the European operations. With my move to Scotland in 2014/5 I no longer require this structure and use CAMG BV for the remaining commitments that I have.

Yakima is a leader in CME equipment and my role (with P&L responsibility) was to establish a European entity and head office. This entailed collaboration with the US and Chinese operations to develop the EU business plan, establishing the physical & fiscal operations (offices, technical facility, warehousing) and staffing the business as appropriate. Within two years turnover was in multi-millions (euro) with 10 staff members, OEM established and operations and distribution in place.

Focus was on companies looking to improve their sustainability,reduce their energy costs and who require accurate data for their sustainability reporting (GRI/UNGC/CDP).

My primary responsibility was to manage existing and establish new distribution partners in Europe and Africa, with a view to growing the commercial business of Segway Personal Transporters and robotic platforms. The main commercial sectors involved were national police forces, security firms, airport operators, marketing and tour companies. Additional sectors, such as Humanitarian Organisations involved in Mine Clearing, were particularly interesting to me, and avoiding conflict while growing the business (often under difficult circumstances) was a rewarding challenge.
