My father A/Prof Les Sheffield is a leading geneticist who has dedicated his life to introducing new genetic tests to improve medical practice. So the quest for better health outcomes is in myDNA.I have a background in tech working for the likes of IBM and Fujitsu. A decade ago, my father and I talked about making genetic testing more widely available, I found a way to combine my passions of genetics and technology to deliver a health tech on a global scale. Today, myDNA offers its services to clients in 168 countries around the world and it operatesa laboratory in Houston, Texas and Melbourne, Australia offering a full suite of genetic testsfor Clinical, Wellness and genealogy clients. In November 2023 myDNA launched Lumi Health to make carrier screening services simple and easily accessible to help support informed reproductive planning.Outside of work, I’m passionate about cricket and love spending time with my wife and three boys.
