Currently on medical leave (Long Term Disability (LTD))As the Chief Financial Officer, I oversee the management of all financial, administrative and legal objectives of the organization. My role also includes the management of all human resource related functions including payroll and benefits administration, contributing as a member of the marketing and admissions team, overseeing all IT requirements, and leading the charity's fundraising efforts including the coordination of an annual fundraising dinner and auction. As the facility continues to grow I oversee the construction and renovation projects from initial concept and design through to completion and occupation. In 2017, I was appointed with the additional responsibilities of Director of Advancement. In this role, I coordinate and facilitate the Academy’s mission in the areas of advancement services, donor stewardship, fundraising, alumni and stakeholder relations.I keep abreast of all government and municipal acts, regulations, and codes as they pertain to employment standards, occupational health and safety, wastewater and safe drinking water management, Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines relating to taxation, remittances, and the Charity Directorate.

The Creative Centre for Learning and Development (CCLD) is a not-for-profit organization with charitable status founded in 1973. The primary goal of CCLD is to establish effective and lasting programs for problematic children and youth. CCLD has operated recreational summer camps for disabled children, a year round residential treatment centre for boys with learning disabilities and behavioural problems, residential leadership camps for boys and girls focused on outdoor adventure training activites, and a private boys school with a military theme.Responsibilities include reporting to the board on all matters relating to the financial status of the corporation, providing support to the board and board related functions, and ensuring that all governance policies and other legal matters are maintained. Other responsibilities: signing authority for all financial, legal and corporate matters.

Niagara Region, Ontario

Pathstone Mental Health (formerly Niagara Child and Youth Services) is the primary provider of children's mental health treatment in Niagara, Ontario. Each year it services in excess of 4,200 children and youth (and their families). The agency offers a broad spectrum of treatment services and programs delivered by highly qualified staff (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and child and youth workers). Pathstone is a not-for-profit agency with charitable status operating under the Child and Family Services Act. It operates on an annual budget of nearly $9 million and employs over 120 full-time and part-time employees. It is governed by a community-based volunteer Board of Directors made up of 12 members.As Board Chair, I provided leadership to the members of the Board, ensured the integrity of the Board's governance process, represented the agency to external parties, and was primary liaison betwen the Board and the CEO of the agency. Other positions held - Vice Chair, member of the Board Audit and Risk Management Committee, and the Board Governance Committee.

Employed as a continuing education instructor to instruct courses through the Ontario Management Development Program (OMDP). OMDP is a unique program which makes use of the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' approved curriculum offering relevant and practical information to today's business practitioner. It is designed specifically for individuals who are in a management or supervisory position, are owners of a small business, are aspiring to a supervisory positions, or are seeking self-employment or small business management skills.Responsibilities included developing lesson plans, delivering course material through lectures and presentations, and facilitating group work and discussions to adult learners.

Served over 12 years as a member of the Canadian Forces, the majority of which as a member of the Primary Reserve (Army) - Lincoln & Welland Regiment. Retired in 2000 at the rank of Sergeant. Primary responsibility was to lead soldiers at the infantry section and platoon level in garrison, in the field and in a live theatre of operations. Duties included training soldiers, instructing and organizing training courses at the recruit and specialist levels, and instructing on various leadership courses.Served as a member of the Canadian Contingent to the United Nations Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP), attached to The Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI). This six month tour of duty was part of Canada's and the United Nations' long standing commitment to bring peace and stability to this country in conflict. Served in the role of Section Second in Command, Section Commander, and Duty NCO while in Cyprus, interacting directly with members of opposing countries' military forces as well as with members of the community.Awards: United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal (CPSM), Canadian Decoration (CD)
