My fascination with science started at an early age; mostly from my thirst for knowledge and seeing Bill Nye the Science Guy videos. While studying at Savannah State University I had the privilege to be a part of two separate cancer research projects both involving PDT (photodynamic therapy) an alternative to radiation therapy for cancer treatment. I have three years of research experience, nearly 10 years of customer service experience and a year of management experience that can fit me in numerous different areas. During my time at Savannah State I did numerous projects and volunteer work to get involved. I joined the American Chemical Society; after joining I was elected to be the senator of the organization, which I did for two years. Also, served as the social chair for the Forensic Science Club, I only served one year in this position. I have gained experience using numerous different instruments such as LC/MS Spectrometer, NMR Spectrometer, micro pipets, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Circular Dichroism Spectrometer also received training on how to use the Presumptive Drug test aka “NIK Test”. I always had a passion for the community and youth so every opportunity I had to do high school visits to give the high school students advice, I did. When I was in high school I was a teacher’s assistant at the neighboring elementary school Pine Ridge Elementary in Stone Mountain, Georgia. In October of 2014 did a voluntary haunted house for the youth of Savannah at a Boys & Girls club. The whole time studying in college I had one and sometimes two part-time jobs I am great with time management and handling multiple task at 1 time. The wide variety of different areas I have work experience shows that I can fit in a role and transition easily into it. I hope that my extensive experience in the lab and customer service suits the qualifications of this position if not this position then a similar position.
