Purchasing Manager / Plant CloserWith the announcement of the closing of the Rochester facility, I was brought back into the plant purchasing group, to coordinate and facilitate the closure of the Rochester plant while ensuring continuous supply of product. I continue to run MRO purchasing as well as the transition and training of a new DCL in Mexico. I also assumed the role of a Productive Buyer. My current position encompasses all aspects required to close a large manufacturing facility, from asset sales to information retention and documentation.

Castings, Rubber and Lubricants – Wipers DivisionAssumed responsibility for four productive commodity purchasing segments ($35M spend). Created and implemented long term strategy for multi-plant North American division. Reduced current supplier base by 28%. Performed annual supplier contract negotiations, with both US based and foreign suppliers. Developed new suppliers and implemented corporate commodity strategies. Supervisory control of 2 MRO buyers and 2 hourly tool crib personnel.

Wholly responsible for day-to-day operations, 5 direct employees, purchasing of all MRO commodities, capital equipment, facilities management and utilities. → Coordinated Valeo MRO Group worldwide as leader on multiple segments to implement Bidding On Line (BOL) at the Rochester facility, and to reduce supplier base by 47% utilizing the group SURE methodology.→SAP system expert for MM, PM and WM modules.

Responsible for day-to-day operations, including staff supervision of 2 contract employees, purchasing of all MRO commodities, capital equipment. Responsible for 3 separate maintenance spare parts cribs.→ Responsible for $33M annual spend across 3 plants and 2 separate divisions.→ Reduced crib inventory for $4.5M in spare parts by 10%.

Responsibilities included scheduling all overtime, construction projects and non-emergency maintenance, for 218 skilled trades employees, across a three-shift operation. Management of union employees.→ Was subject matter expert for installation and implementation of SAP system for PM, MM and WM modules.→ Absorbed, rearranged and disbanded 24 hourly laborers into new Valeo corporate structure.→ Rearranged existing $9M crib into 4 separate entities to meet corporate structure while reducing $1.5M in spare part purchases.

Responsible for the preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance of over 1000 pieces of manufacturing equipment in the Air Flow plant.→ Wrote custom stand alone Access based Preventative maintenance program for all four plants. 4000 plus pieces of manufacturing equipment in the facility.→ Group leader for plant and maintained QS-9000 compliance.

Responsible for 125,000-sq. ft. of manufacturing space. Including installation of all new equipment, inter-departmental and inter-plant material handling systems, as well as modification to existing equipment.

Responsible for day-to-day operation of Architects’ office. Prepared working drawings and construction documentation, attended planning board and project meetings as required. Managed the construction of Cobblestone Creek Golf and Country Club, Victor New York.
