Capital Campaign DirectorMee Memorial Hospital 2018 - 2019Monterey County, California, United StatesTrailblazed a successful capital campaign for a medical clinic expansion in a rural agricultural community in the midst of Mee Memorial’s CEO change, financial crisis, and layoffs.Communicated positive human interest stories of dozens of people who had great experiences with Mee Memorial along with profiles of the doctors and healthcare professionals. Created web content, printed collateral, and worked with local media to share the messaging.Built a campaign honoring a legendary ag leader whose wife was a longtime volunteer in the hospital guild because we knew a traditional capital campaign was not going to work.Identified prospective donors in the community who had been inspired, supported, or mentored by our honoree and solicited their support with letters, phone calls and personal meetings.Bridged the divide between Mee Memorial and the community by changing the narrative with community leaders, leveraging personal relationships to create a network of support, and writing a new dialogue about the importance of a local hospital and healthcare system in a rural community.Managed every aspect of the campaign, drafted every letter and piece of communication, launched an employee giving campaign, thanked donors, and provided weekly reports to the CEO and Board with progress and potential.Raised $750K in 7 months without the benefit of any past fundraising history (in the past 2 decades), donor database, fundraising committee, or even a feasibility study. -
