After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Human Nutrition, I entered the world of sport and exercise medicine to explore my passion for critical patient care, functional movement, and orthopedic research.Following graduation, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Rehabilitation Technician for Premier Bone and Joint Centers, where I was a unit resource for educating new CNAs and RNs on physical therapy equipment, a direct caregiver to patients under the supervision of RNs and DPTs, and furthered my knowledge of the anesthetic specialty under three anesthesiologists.As a Patient Care Technician working at the esteemed Barrow Neurological Institute’s ICU, located within the Trauma-1 Saint Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, I serve as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team. My primary focus is on the provision of exceptional care to critically ill patients afflicted with brain injuries and diseases. One of my most notable achievements was the creation of an External Ventricular Drain "badge buddy." It is no secret that I thrive working closely with my team to organize educational tools for the interdisciplinary team, ensuring the provision of outstanding patient care to the wider Phoenix metropolis.After completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Ottawa University, in partnership with the concurrent enrollment program at Glendale Community College, I plan to acquire more experience in critical care before transitioning into the field of surgery.Besides bedside care, I have held a number of healthcare roles, from selling nutritional supplements as a Sale's Associate at GNC to developing evidence-based exercise prescriptions as a Personal Trainer at various gyms.
