Direct HSSE, personal safety, process safety, drilling operations, and forward management planning within drilling program scope. Train and mentor rig personnel and enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations in accordance with Government regulations and company policies. Maintain operational data and prepare daily management summary reports for leaders to assist in decision making. Inspect drilling equipment, materials, and products daily according to quality management system to detect defects and malfunctions

•Supervising the driller and crews to ensure program objectives are being met and communicating any changes or concerns•Ensuring the equipment is operated within its designed specifications •Overseeing the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment •Ensue that the BOP system is properly installed, certified and maintained•Ensure that all equipment inspections are being performed as required, and performing any needed remedial actions in a timely manner•Ensure sufficient stock of parts and materials is maintained for drilling operations•Report drilling operations to management as required•Verify for compliance records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment•Participate in the daily operations meetings to plan and direct job activities •Ensure that current well control pre-recorded data is available, documented and posted as per CAODC policy and procedure•Performing well control calculations•Responsible for ensuring that regular derrick inspections are carried out in accordance with the DROPS program•Assist the Operator in organizing third party personnel responsible for various well program aspects•Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas•Actively participate in the Safety Programs (NJO, HAZARD ID, ASA, JSA)•Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisors•Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work in their current job positions and where appropriate coached and prepared for the next position•Ensure crew members are certified in the required courses as per company and government guidelines•Conduct performance evaluations for crews members.
