I am the Founder of Unity in Motion inc. and served as the organization’s Executive Director for the first 20 years. I am also the Co-Founder and President of the Unity in Hope School System inc. in 2019 operating in the poorest area of Islamabad, Pakistan. I am a U.S Navy veteran and navigation team member of the 5th nuclear submarine to circumnavigate the world. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater graduating Summa Cum Laude. In April 2000, I founded Unity in Motion. The program began as a free karate class (I am a black belt in Okinawan Shito-Ryu karate) for low income youth and grew into to a non-profit corporation that works with Milwaukee central city youth from adolescence to adulthood (14 year commitment), ensuring that they reach their full potential. I did this while working full-time for 15.5 years at Northwestern Mutual in various management level positions. In addition, I serve as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Hope Christian Schools network and am member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Urban Teaching. I also serve as the Development Director for the Jacarrie's Kicks for Kids inc. organization located in the central city of Milwaukee, WI.
