As a Teaching Assistant at the Kumon Math & Reading Centre of Edmonton, I work with the center Instructor to support and provide guidance in English and Math one-on-one to students using the Kumon method. Other tasks required include grading and record student classwork/homework, packing for upcoming classes, other administrative and customer service tasks at the center.The Kumon Math & Reading Program is a worldwide program first developed in Japan to help students succeed in Math and English. The program aims to promote student success by getting students to learn concepts that are higher than the grade level they are in. This ensures that students are prepared for higher-level English and Math concepts as they progress in their studies. The Math and English program at Kumon is suitable for Individualized Instruction time, Self-Learning (at your own pace), and small step worksheets to ensure that students slowly grasp concepts.
