I am a Project manager with over 10 years’ experience, I am proactive, passionate and outcome focused. I take inspiration from the things that make us kiwis, from our big-picture thinking, our ability to collaborate and organise and the eccentricities that makes our working environments, and projects, unique. My experience includes working on a variety of different exciting, challenging and important projects as a Strategic Project Manager, with varied size, complexity and outcomes. I’ve worked both internally and externally and ensured the delivery of multiple programmes, projects and strategic initiatives including:• Several large internal change management projects including the transition of staff from offices to an open plan workspace, moving staff of approx. 250 from one building to another (and then back again), and evolving the workspace from assigned seating to an agile work system.• Several large construction projects including, The Lower Hutt Event Centre project, The Laings Road Administration Building Project and the Huia Pool Project.• A large community engagement project to co-design, alongside the Naenae Community, what their preferred outcome would be in regards to the earthquake prone pool• Leading the strategic approach to procurement for broader outcomes, or social procurement. This means harnessing our buying power to achieve more than great services for the best price. Using our business relationships to achieve great environmental, economic, social and cultural outcomes for our communities.While project processes and systems are designed to ensure the success of projects, and offer safeguards to the business and project manager, that there is more to it than that. It’s my sincere belief that when the team understands and supports the business strategy, and believes that the projects or initiatives help the business to achieve its objectives, success is more likely. It’s our job as leaders to not just plan, organise and manage, we need to communicate the objectives and strategy in a way that engages the team. And gives the business / client confidence that we are delivering what’s been agreed.
