Allen Burchett leads our large global strategic projects. These pursuits span across industries and geographies. They provide customer value in the areas of power, automation and infrastructure. Allen is based in Houston, TX US and reports to ABB Group in Zurich.His previous role focused on driving growth in Oil, Gas and Chemicals for ABB. Prior to this, Allen led organic and inorganic strategic initiatives that enabled ABB to achieve growth plans in North America. These initiatives spanned several market segments including Smart Grid, Wind, Solar, Energy Efficiency, Rail, US Federal Government and Datacenters. He also led our Business Development Team in North America and was responsible for Mergers and Acquisitions. Allen began with ABB as General Manager of several of our manufacturing sites. Allen joined ABB in 1995 from Pepsico - Frito Lay, where he was a General Manager and Plant Engineer. Allen is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Allen has completed Executive Leadership courses at Duke University and International Business management courses at IMD in Switzerland. Allen has been active on several Boards and Advisory Committees including: Advisory Board for Advanced Energy for WVU, The Wake County Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Business Advisory Board, the North Carolina Solar Advisory Board, Wake Tech Electrical Advisory Board, and the Research Triangle Park Cleantech Cluster Board of Directors. He is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth.
