In this role, I am tasked with heading the ESPN+ broadcasts for the university's athletics events in basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball and swimming. In addition, I also plan and coordinate assorted video content to be used on social media and for internal purposes.

In this position, I have worked my way up the ladder in the production team. I started as a camera operator and have moved to working show control for the video board, music for the ballpark, stats, replay, graphics and occasionally technical directing for MiLB.tv broadcasts of our team’s High-A baseball games. I try to make myself versatile and be an asset in every position in the team. In addition, I aided in designing graphics for the games played on MiLB.tv and BTN+ in 2021.

At North Greenville, I started work as a student in a program that was just getting off the ground in broadcasting. In being there at that time, I learned everything I could as quickly as I could, from technical directing to camera work to commentating for every sport we could cover. Working here has led to opportunities to work the Conference Carolinas baseball tournament and help cover the D-II Southeast Regionals, among other things, as well.

I was given more responsibility in this position to manage the entire staff. Under my direction, we took initiative to update the music selection within the radio computers and give better show ideas a direction to go with. We opened up an avenue of creativity and have converged with other medias on campus to better serve the university. In managing the other staff, we have been able to institute a multitude of different ideas and the station is better because of it.

I was tasked with running a lot of behind the scenes technical work on the campus radio station under the direction of my Station Manager. I was in charge of managing our staff's shows and ensuring that everything stayed within the FCC regulations. I also ran my own shows on the station and made sure programs were up to standards.

I assist in pre-production work when it comes to studying matchups and work on how we implement those storylines into the broadcasts. In addition to that, I technical direct, operate replay, run audio, stay on the phone with ESPN or fill in wherever necessary whilst also setting up and tearing down equipment and making sure that everything is running properly. I also serve as the lead video board operator and assist in training volunteers on their roles and provide a helping hand to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. In the case that my supervisor is unable to attend an event, I am tasked with leading the crew from the top down and putting on the broadcast. In addition to that, I also work with my supervisor to bounce ideas off one another and make the best product we can.

After my supervisor left for North Carolina, I was named the interim director. In this role, I was tasked with running the operation for the end of basketball season, lacrosse season and baseball/softball season. Though severely impacted by COVID, I was still able to learn massive lessons about how I like to lead my crews and how to tackle technical gremlins and find work-arounds in a pinch.

In this role, I worked my way up through the ranks into the control room. I began by running cameras and elevated myself into running graphics, audio, replay, video boards, occasional commentary and technical directing for shows on the ESPN platform. I made sure to make myself an asset and tried to learn everything I could to advance myself and learn.

In addition to the work I was already doing with Furman University, I became an intern for a semester. Through this experience, I was humbled and taken away from the positions I normally worked at camera to shoot highlight film, ensure streams stayed active and set things up in advance before games. I was taught a lot of the behind the scenes work and worked my way into directing shows for basketball season on ESPN3.

I worked as a utility and cable grip for productions of high school football in western North Carolina for a season. In the second season, my work elsewhere garnered me a camera position. From there, I worked high game cameras and sideline cameras for productions. Other responsibilities included tearing down the setup and packing up the truck.
