Digital Marketing: Linked Data Seo, Analytics, Web Development
The idea for Wilson Vision came from my early experience as a photographer--published in LA Times, OC Register, and Yahoo Finance--when I took a picture of the sky and realized that anything which I envisioned could be termed "Wilson Vision."While I shot photos professionally for a while, I found a niche in design, as I noticed that nearly all new customer requests were for web design. The recession resulted in marketing departments adapting, which meant that businesses were demanding fresh and relevant marketing materials to reflect their own organization's changes. In a few years, I had gone from photographer to branding consultant, with all the technical chops to fill the how-to gaps. So, while I'm no business development consultant, it's fair to say that I have taken a few businesses and helped them succeed beyond their dreams. Great power (potential for power, at least) also means great responsibility. You won't see many individuals talk about their failures on LinkedIn or from their resumes. It's not dishonest to omit them per se, but these failed ventures can often shape an individual more than a wild success. So, while I won't go into further detail here, I will gladly share the greatest mistakes I have made professionally (collaborators and clients will remain anonymous of course) as it pertains to the way in which I work today. All you have to do is ask:)
Web Dev / Linked Data Seo
Coordinated efforts with the Marketing Communications Manager and Director of Technology to build a mobile version of the websiteCreated promotional emails to showcase new products, engage customer base with our content, and increase brand awareness Coordinated with the VP of Marketing and members of the Catalog team to produce weekly and seasonal ads; re-targeting campaigns; and other mediums various mediums such as display and banner adsOften carried the ad from concept to launch in multiple formats, subject to the approval of the VP of Marketing. Collaborated with Content Marketing manager to properly connect tech articles with their respective product offerings by adding both quantitative and qualitative information to our database, resulting in more accessible paths for our customers to find our products.Met weekly with the SEO committee to assess site performance and look for missed opportunities, where we proposed possible solutions that I would then research and report back to the group, only to be executed once SCAT assessments were completed.
Director Of Web Development And Seo
Working with small businesses required me to perform the role of digital marketing director, web developer, and branding/conceptual designer for these organizations. I built websites and re-designed existing ones with deference to the latest standards in web technologies. I was the first web developer to apply health and medical entities (Schema.org markup) to private dental practices. This resulted in two clients of mine dominating their respective regional markets ----Los Angeles and New York--of digital search for cosmetic dentistry.Implemented (implied contributor) several W3C HTML5 and CSS3 specifications including: FONTS, TEXT DECORATION, SELECTORS API, and IMAGE VALUES AND REPLACED CONTENT MODULE.Advanced working knowledge of the following platforms:WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Joomla, OS Commerce.Using Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, PageSpeed, Insights, and other tools, I gauged clients' site performance from a user experience (UX) perspective to improve their brand image. attracting new business via search. Reduced pagespeed load times by implementing CDN (content delivery network) server technologies, including caching web properties, improving site architecture, and consolidating server side code to make sites easily found by search engines and quickly downloaded by mobile devices. This meant becoming proficient with managing a dedicated Apache server.I have real-time experience managing e-commerce sites with more than 30,000 unique products.
Design Consultant
Developing strategy for engagement with Google, W Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Regency Hotels, and Hilton, Fedex, Cars.com.
Team Member -Seo - Analytics - Video - Creative
I worked as a web developer in tandem with GigaSavvy for TEDxOrangeCoast, the nation's largest TEDx event, helping to improve site architecture, security, and pagespeed. In one instance, organizers turned to me for help on the night before the event, when they couldn't fix the live Twitter feed on the home page. While it was far from being a heroic feat to implement a technical solution to a problem like this, the surrounding circumstances provide a little insight into the type of volunteer role I served in.
