Possessed an extensive knowledge and fondness for overnight operations in major Marriott Hotels. As overnight banquet supervisor I was in charge of the fast turnover of meeting facilities from the evening dinner and dance functions to the setup of the morning meetings and breakfasts. I went on to Night Audit in Bethesda and to Night Manager at BWI. I was responsible for the posting of room and tax, restaurant charges, banquet checks, miscellaneous fees and adjustments. Received admiration for balancing the room and tax to the Market Segment Report and D-Card. I prepared the Gross Revenue Report and was one of the major players for automating the report. Had an outstanding rate of completing the 3rd Shift closing on the penny, zeroing out the closing accounts, rolling the date and completing the final before the day shift arrived. As manager I handled guest emergencies, complaints, walking situations with minimal effort and maximum success. I was available to travel to assist other properties on my off nights and I opened the BWI Marriott Hotel in 1988. I was admired by most of the staff because I enjoyed working weekends, holidays and usually arrived early to relieve the 3-11 crew. I have more than 8 years of college, however most of my learning came from the night shift at Marriott. I hope I can obtain a Night Audit Manager’s position after I retire from Dade County, Florida.
