I have been described as an “outstanding teacher with the ability to connect people and ideas so they can see the big picture.” I am fortunate to have worked with a diverse range of nonprofit organizations such as the World Bank Institute, the Eurasia Foundation, numerous associations (e.g, The Association of Zoos and Aquariums, The American Alliance of Museums, The American Geophysical Union), the Cornell Migrant Programs as well as the City of Fairfax Police Department . My experiences include:- I am a former community organizer who is experienced in community problem solving.- Participation in the Innovation University Program in which a select group of change agents from non-competing companies come together each quarter to visit innovative companies and explore ways to apply these lessons in their own companies. Visits included companies such as Coca-Cola, Interface Carpet as well as several companies in Lima, Peru. - I have taught the principles of Trust-Based Leadership in a program for the City of Fairfax Police Department.- Managed a major study about the future of associations and co-authored its two major publications.- Created an education package for migrant farm children about the dangers of pesticide poisoning. Originally for use in New York State, the package was adapted for use in Africa by the United Nations Environment Programme.- Certification in the Bottom-Line Innovation process, the Osborne-Parnes Creative Problem Solving Method, and the Innovate with C.A.R.E. Profile®.
